Dental plaque is a sticky, colourless film that forms on the surface of your teeth and can give you that “fuzzy/furry” feeling. If plaque is not thoroughly removed by brushing and flossing it will accumulate. When plaque accumulates, it mineralises (hardens) and turns into calculus (tartar). Calculus also traps stains on your teeth and is often a brown or yellow colour.
